There is much to do to get everything ready on time - cleaning the house, putting up the decorations, planning the meal, & shopping for ingredients to name a few.  But where do you begin? Lists, lists, lists!  The magical word that will make things happen.  Lists are an important [...]

By |2020-11-17T13:41:49-06:00October 26th, 2011|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|

The air is crisp and the leaves are becoming colorful and beginning to fall from the trees. Daylight is starting to wane earlier. We are moving closer to the end of Daylight Savings Time. On November 6th, at 2 am we will set our clocks back 1 hour. There are various schools of thought pertaining to the perceived benefits of saving daylight and it’s become a rather controversial subject. That could be a post all by itself. Today I would like to talk about how setting our clocks back or, setting them forward, makes us feel. I know how I feel [...]

My Time Is Valuable Too!

By |2018-01-09T11:38:53-06:00September 28th, 2011|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|

In a conversation a few days ago with a couple of my good friends, we were discussing no show charges with healthcare providers. One of my friends recently missed a doctor’s appointment and promptly received a bill from her doctor for a significant amount of money because she was a ‘no show’. I understand the logic behind this in terms of loss of income because that timeslot was now empty, or was it? I thought back to so many times that I scheduled an appointment with a doctor six months in advance, showed up on time, then had to wait [...]

Get Organized To Save Money

By |2020-11-17T13:41:49-06:00September 7th, 2011|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|

As a professional home organizer I’m often asked what I do. My usual reply is, I eliminate stress and save money for busy professionals by de-cluttering and organizing their living spaces. I know, it sounds like an elevator speech and it is, but it’s also specifically what I do. When I’m asked how being organized will save money, then I provide some real life scenarios. Since time is money, and time is what it takes to locate something that is misplaced, you save time by being able to locate that item when you need it, which actually saves you money. How [...]

Changing Your Name After The Wedding

By |2020-11-17T13:41:50-06:00July 27th, 2011|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|

My niece just got married on the beach in Florida and the ceremony was beautiful! I’m sure the bride and groom were a little nervous but it didn’t show at all. With the beautiful weather, the soothing sound of the ocean, and the warm breeze blowing, everyone seemed so relaxed. She did such a great job planning her wedding. This was done in a matter of 6 months so she was very organized in her approach and it went off without a hitch. Their reception is this week and just like the ceremony, is expected to go smoothly. I’m so proud [...]

Storage With Flare

By |2020-11-17T13:41:51-06:00March 3rd, 2011|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|

Have you ever looked at some of your storage containersand thought they were drab, or boring? Yes, they may be functional, but they don’t really have the pizzaz to keep you motivated to stay organized. Maybe some options such as colorful patterns, personalization and lots of pockets would help. The storage containers I’m referring to are not the plastic bins in the basement that no one sees. What I’m talking about are mainly mobile items such as, purses, totes, wallets, and lunch bags to name a few. These are the items you schlep around with you all the time, so why [...]

By |2020-11-17T13:41:52-06:00December 7th, 2010|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips, Paper Management, Storage|Tags: , , , , |

In the fast paced world in which we live today, there is not enough time to do everything we need to do, especially during the holidays. Sending greeting cards via snail mail is a task that takes some time to complete and is becoming obsolete in this electronic age, not to mention the rising cost of postage stamps. However, if you’re like many of the older generation, and still like to send holiday greeting cards by way of the postal service, having an organized system makes this task more efficient and more enjoyable. It’s Not Easy Being Green

By |2020-11-17T13:41:53-06:00November 30th, 2010|Categories: Holiday Organization, Organizing Tips|
