It’s that time of year again – tax time. Hopefully by this time you have filed your income tax return and are in the midst of happily spending your refund. If not, you better get on it as the deadline for this year is Tuesday, April 17th.

After you have filed your taxes for the year, this might be a good time to go through your file cabinet and get rid of all those papers that you no longer need. Many of which probably have personal information that you don’t want to fall into the hands of an identity thief. The crime of identity theft has reached monumental proportions over the recent years. If you have a small amount of these documents, and have a cross cut paper shredder, you can easily spend some time to shred these documents to free up room in your file cabinet. However, if you have been remiss in attending to the proper maintenance of your files, you may have more documents to shred than your shredder can handle, not to mention the time it will take to get through all those stacks of paper. If this is your situation, there’s no need to take on the burden of document destruction, you can attend the 2012 NAPO St. Louis Shred Event. All the details are on the flyer in this post, so I hope to see you on April 21st.
