By |2023-07-26T12:30:26-05:00July 26th, 2023|Categories: Health Benefits|Tags: , , , , , |

In other posts I have consistently wrote about how clutter causes stress, and that is just one way that organization correlates to your health. Chronic stress can wreak havoc on your health and what we are all trying to manage, or should be. Eliminating, or better yet, avoiding clutter build up is a great way to manage stress. A good time management skillset allows us to be productive which falls into the category of organization. Getting a lot done is productive and the definition of productive according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is, ‘yielding results, benefits, or profits’. An example [...]

6 Things To Consider That Will Help Prioritize Maintenance Tasks

By |2023-05-25T12:52:19-05:00May 25th, 2023|Categories: Maintenance|Tags: , , |

When you prioritize maintenance tasks, you can save money, avoid service interruptions and potential catastrophes. Anyone that owns a vehicle of any type or a home, understands that there will be ongoing maintenance tasks of these items, or their parts. Nothing lasts forever. Typically, we prioritize tasks based on urgency, but when you prioritize maintenance tasks, they may or may not be urgent. It may be that you didn’t keep up with a maintenance schedule which now creates a sense of urgency, and that is what you want to avoid. Maintenance tasks are an important part of keeping your home [...]

What Does Peace of Mind Really Mean?

By |2023-05-16T10:49:26-05:00May 17th, 2023|Categories: Peace|Tags: , , , , |

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the definition of peace of mind is, “a feeling of being safe or protected.” This is not just a part of the tag line for SOS, you actually hear it a lot in advertising, especially from home security companies. My rendition of what it means, is that you don’t have to worry about something, and in a world where so many things are uncertain, the more peace of mind we have in life equals less stress. We all strive to achieve the goal of less stress, or I think we do. There are so [...]

Timing is Everything in a Lot of Scenarios

By |2023-03-23T11:34:13-05:00March 23rd, 2023|Categories: Time Management|Tags: , , , |

Think of timing as being proactive. The consequences of your actions, or inactions, depends on the timing of those actions, inactions, or choices really. This is true in a lot of scenarios. In this post we will explore different scenarios to drive home the point. Selling a house is a scenario where timing is important. Spring and summer are the prime times to list a house for sale. Most buyers are looking to buy a house during those two seasons for good reasons. If they have a family, it provides adequate time to enroll the kids in a different school, [...]

Positive Results Occur by Being Proactive

By |2021-09-20T15:26:25-05:00September 22nd, 2021|Categories: Mindfullness|Tags: , , , , , |

The definition of proactive according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is, “acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes”. Positive results are sure to follow when you think about things that may happen if you aren’t mindful of yourself, and your surroundings, and take proactive steps to avoid potential issues. Being mindful of yourself, your surroundings and future needs, is the first step in the process of being proactive. As you go along in life, and you see things that could potentially cause an issue in the future, for whatever reason, the next step is to determine the appropriate [...]

By |2021-09-13T10:24:05-05:00September 15th, 2021|Categories: Productivity|Tags: , , , , , , |

Does the first part of the title of this post resonate with you? If so, then consider organizing your life to douse those flames as stated in the second part of the title.  By eliminating your constant ‘hair on fire’ scenarios, you will live a less stressful, more productive and peaceful life.  But first, determine what areas of your life cause the ‘hair on fire’ scenario the most. Are you constantly looking for your keys, making you late to work, appointments, or school? Are you buying multiples of items because you didn’t know you already had one or more of [...]

By |2021-08-02T16:25:11-05:00August 10th, 2021|Categories: Downsizing|Tags: , , , , , |

We all have an over-abundance of things.  As I’ve mentioned in the past, at some point in your life you will have a need to downsize your belongings.  Waiting until it becomes a necessity is not a good approach. Don’t wait until that time comes because it’s inevitable that you will need to downsize your belongings at some point. Be proactive, start before it becomes a necessity because if you wait, you may not have the physical or mental capacity to get the job done. You want to be able to make decisions for your things, you don’t want others [...]

Consolidate to Save Space

By |2020-11-17T13:41:19-06:00August 30th, 2019|Categories: Home Organization, Organizing Tips|Tags: , , , , |

When you consolidate contents of containers with the same product, you save space.  Many of my clients have multiples of one product with varying amounts in each container. These could be personal care items, cleaning products, office supplies, etc. We consolidate the varying amounts into one container and voila, more space! I often wonder how that happens. My thought is to use up all the stuff in one container before opening a new one. If it’s the same product, why open a new one? It could be that the container being used, gets pushed behind others so it’s not seen.  [...]
